Intelligent Disobedience:
The Difference between
Good and GREAT Project
Managers

Intelligent Disobedience is the ability to successfully challenge, pushback and make suggestions to management, that defend the integrity of your projects against the expectations of your stakeholder. Project managers need to know how to "disobey their masters" as a means of "saving the business" just as seeing-eye dogs "save and empower their masters" with their vision and behavior.

This presentation focuses on what is needed for "intelligent disobedience": courage, solid presentation skills, and political awareness in addition to project insight. This session will be fun, informative and will provide you with a different way to address the challenges you face as project managers.

Bob McGannon will lead this session assisted by Denise DeCarlo. Both of these high energy presenters have spent many years in the I/T and project management field. The have most recently focused their efforts on management development, personal and team productivity studies, and productivity improvement techniques. While working with IBM, both Mr. McGannon and Ms. DeCarlo performed assignments across the United States writing and negotiating I/T outsourcing contracts, assessing and creating improvement plans for outsourced accounts, as well as developed I/T project management techniques and disciplines.

Mr. McGannon and Ms DeCarlo have each earned a B.S. degree and have received awards for both service and academic excellence. Both are certified Project Management Professionals (PMP) by the Project Management Institute and have earned the Certified Project Executive status while with the IBM Corporation.
